Megaupload is one of the biggest file sharing sharing sites online. They have a series of sites which have all been closed by the U.S Justice Department on January 12th 2012.
Many of us have opinons on this and I would love to hear yours!
Personally, Megaupload has always been a bit iffy to me. They have done a few things that have left me in question. But the reasoning behind shutting MegaUpload down was not necessarily the right reasons to shut them down.
They shut the numerous sites down and arrested the CEOS for “running a operation specifically “Copyright Infringement.” This alligation I would not necessarily call true. There we’re many shady things going on with MegaUpload but there was legitement content being shared on the site as well.
To my understanding I thought the USER was suppose to be responsible for what they upload to the site. But it seems Megaupload turned a blind eye and didn’t moderate their numerous sites as well as they should have.
What are your thoughts on the shutdown on MegaUploads site(s)?
How will this effect other sites and content online?
